The late, great Janet Waldo's birthday is in a mere four days, and to celebrate, I thought I'd share this great interview with Waldo, taken from the DVD release for Battle of the Planets. In case you don't know, Battle of the Planets was a heavily altered American version of the anime Science Ninja Team Gatchaman. It aired in the late seventies and has garnered a cult following in the years since. Waldo portrayed the character of Princess (known as Jun the Swan in the Japanese version), and several other smaller roles. While the interview is obviously centered around this series, she also discusses her career in general, including her work for Hanna-Barbera. It's quite a good interview if you ask me, and worth checking out regardless of whether or not you care for the show.
On a quick side note, I apologize for the lack of updates this month. I've mostly spent this month getting things ready for posts that you'll see in the months to come, hence why this one was so slow. Rest assured, things will most certainly pick up when Fantastic February starts up. As an apology for the sparse posts and since it is the first of the month, look for the first post of that series to appear tomorrow!
