We've looked at news coverage, and we've looked at printed ads. So clearly, it's time to look at a few of the TV commercials Turner put out to advertise the first-ever 24-hour cartoon network! This first one assaults the viewer with an array of classic cartoons, all tied together with some narration by Droopy, who enthusiastically (or, as enthusiastically as Droopy can do) urges the watcher to check the channel out.
This next one features narration by Yogi Bear (who I believe is voiced by Greg Burson here), and shows a montage of characters like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and George Jetson showing off their best dance moves!
Third and finally, this one is allegedly the first-ever commercial for Cartoon Network, which aired on July 8th, 1992. While I do not know that for certain, the commercial itself definitely feels like an introduction to the channel. All we are shown is the logo slowly being assembled, while a cavalcade of cartoon voices echo in the background.
