The Exposure Sheet, One Year Later

Welp, here's a post that I'm a little shocked to be making. On April 1st of last year, I launched The Exposure Sheet. When I launched the blog, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I was just a freelance writer who loved researching cartoons, the Hanna-Barbera classics especially, and thought it would be fun to throw my hat into a world made up of talented fellows like the folks at Cartoon Research, Yowp, Mark Kausler, and many more.

Beyond being a fan of researching cartoons, I am of course a fan of the toons themselves, so I was interested in getting to know others who felt the same way I did about these shows. Since starting the blog, I've gotten to know fans from all walks of life. From those who grew up with the shows in the sixties to other animation researchers to industry veterans, I've gotten to make some truly special connections, and I have this blog to thank for that.

To be honest, when I developed this blog, I was somewhat apprehensive. "Nobody cares about Hanna-Barbera" is a sentiment I've seen shared online a lot over the years, and with other websites already having given exhaustive coverage to these shows, I thought this idea might very well be one of the past. Now, a year and 15,000 views later, I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt that I made the right choice in launching this blog. And I'm only getting warmed up! I've got some exciting stuff planned for the coming months, some things farther along than others, but all special. Not to spoil anything, but there's a post that should be coming here within the next week or so that many will be surprised by. To wrap up this potentially incoherent celebratory post, I want to thank everyone who has clicked on this blog over the last year. From your comments to your shares, it really does mean the world to me. Here's to many more!
